Notes:
JAVA was developed by Sun Microsystems and launched to the internet in 1995 as version JAVA 1.0.2 which is supported still by most browsers. It has steadily developed and since 1998 improved to version JAVA 2.
The latest version is freely available on the Sun web site http://java.sun.com
There are a number of commercial development tools on the market and some companies also provide free light editions for the student and home user. JCreator from Xinox Software http://www.jcreator.com is a popular easy-to-use development environment.
Installation Instructions
These are found with downloading instructions from the web site.
The Sun JDK, JRE and API documentation are installed first followed by JCreator IDE which searches and sets up folder paths automatically.
